After Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and London two years ago, this summer, Norwegian Air will launch transatlantic flights from Paris. From 29 July, the low-cost airline will be offering seven weekly flights from Paris CDG to New York, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale.
The lowest Paris - New York airfare is 179 euros one-way. The only snag is that you will have to book well in advance - and travel light – with only one cabin baggage. If you want to choose your seat, put baggage in the hold, or have a meal, that will cost you around thirty euros - per option. Only the premium class includes all these services, but is three times more expensive.
These US flights will be undertaken by Norwegian’s fleet of ten, around 300-seater, Boeing 787’s, constituting two class cabins: 90% in Economy, with the rest in Premium. Last year Norwegian carried 26 million passengers.
