Paris attacks : French airports under surveillance

Published on 18/11/2015 01:00 - By aeronewstv.com

After the terrorist attacks of last Friday in Paris, the Sentinel security operation (launched in January after the attacks of Charlie Hebdo) has been increased. 3,000 additional military reinforcements have been sent to protect 800 sensitive areas throughout the country, bringing the number of soldiers now to 10,000 to patrol and monitor potential targets, including airports like here in Toulouse (South France). Half have been deployed in Paris, the other half in the provinces.

Border controls have been strengthened, and the French State has now asked its European partners to intensify checks on passengers travelling to France.

Concerning airlines, Air France, whom we contacted, said they had not noticed any decline in their activity last weekend after the Paris attacks, whilst easyJet evoked a certain "slowdown" in their French activity.
