"Terror over the Vatican", the first thriller from Jean-Louis Baroux

From 29th to 31st October, over 500 air transport professionals from 68 companies attended the sixth edition of APG World Connect at the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco. Meetings included an opportunity to discuss the distribution trends in this sector. It was also the occasion to meet Jean-Louis Baroux as a novelist.

After two serious works, the founder of APG Network, the world's largest network of commercial services for air transport, has just published "Terror over the Vatican", his first thriller. It took him 18 months to complete this novel, set between 1945 and 2007, in which a number of airline company presidents find themselves taken hostage on a ‘plane because of a dark history of gold bars dating from the Nazi period.

"It needed to be set amidst an affair about money, and what more mysterious than that of the Nazi treasure that was never found, simply BECAUSE it was never found. All that has been found so far are boxes of documents, but never the money."

Via this book, the author reveals the underlying discussions and strategies of airlines today leading to battles costing billions; it is also a means of getting a message across concerning the freedom of air transport.

"Terror over the Vatican" is published by the French publishing house l’Archipel, and has been available in French and English since October, with 5,000 copies in print.
