Video - What is the temperature of a civil aircraft engine?

- By

A motor car’s engine temperature when warm is in the range of 90°C (195°F) to 95°C (205°F), but for an airliner engine, the order of magnitude is not at all the same. So what is the temperature inside an airplane engine? We spoke to Snecma, the aircraft engine manufacturer, who kindly gave us information for the CFM56 engine, the world's best -seller which notably equips the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families.

Concerning some passengers we interviewed at an airport, the answer is far from obvious, but we tell you what it is at the end of this video. The figure is impressive.
