A little action with World War Z, a zombie film released in 2013. Directed by Marc Forster, the apocalyptic action horror blockbuster, makes use of lots of airplane and helicopter scenes; because this is the only way to get around after a mysterious plague has transformed most of the world’s population into starving zombie hordes.
However, even plane trips are not safe. In this excerpt, the main character, Gerry Lane (played by Brad Pitt), a former United Nations employee charged with investigating the pandemic, finds himself on board the last plane leaving Jerusalem. On approaching their destination, a single zombie is discovered on the aircraft. The female Israel Defense Force (IDF) member, escorting Gerry Lane, provides him with a difficult to accept non-negotiable way out.
For the record, the aircraft is a fictional company "Belarus Airlines" Airbus A310. The most knowledgeable of you may find inconsistencies in the film concerning military aircraft fleets. The presence of an Antonov An-12, in US Air Force livery, and Israeli SA-360 Dauphin helicopters, in particular, have raised some criticism among experts ; but that apart, it does not detract from the fact that it is still a great show – if you are into that type of genre.
