On January 15th Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier announced the suspension of its Learjet 85 programme. A ‘‘break’’ motivated by current insufficient opportunities for this type of twin-engined business jet, and also a blow to employees working on the programme.
On 17th December, the first Falcon 8X, destined for flight testing, will roll off the production line at Merignac (near Bordeaux, South West France). For the occasion, Dassault Aviation has invited some 200 people, mostly customers. During 2016, the first business jets of the series will go to the Little Rock plant in the United States to have their cabins fitted out.
On Oct. 14th at their headquarters in Savannah, in the state of Georgia, and in the presence of 3,000 guests, Gulfstream unveiled two new top of the range business jet projects: the G500 and the G600. Main objective: to prevent the Dassault Aviation 5X and 8X Falcon from gaining too much of a stronghold on the market.
