In 2015, Safran recruited 7,700 people, nearly half of which are overseas. The aerospace and aircraft equipment manufacturer and supplier now has over 70,000 employees. This year the group will continue recruiting although at a reduced rate of 5,500 additional personnel, made up mostly of engineers and skilled technical workers.
This information was disclosed yesterday at Safran’s Paris headquarters, on the occasion of their annual report presentation, which also reflects the aviation industry’s excellent health. Last year, the group achieved an all inclusive divisions turnover of 17.4 billion euros; an increase of 13.4% compared to 2014.
It is Safran’s aerospace, aircraft propulsion and equipment interests that have boosted their activities. Sales of commercial and military aircraft engines, plus helicopter turboshaft engines, account for 53% of their turnover. Wiring systems, landing gear and nacelles add another 28%.
