To fight against copper cable theft on its railway network, the French railway company the S.N.C.F. recently called in the help of drones! In early February, a Delair-Tech "DT-18" overflew a section of railway tracks for two hours, at 50km ( just over 30miles )/ h and at less than 150 metres ( almost 500ft. )above the ground; a world's first for a civilian drone.
Founded in 2008, the start-up company Fly-n-Sense specialized in mini-drones has raised nearly a million euros from a group of investors.
