Airbus has confirmed it. The first Airbus A350-900 will be delivered to Qatar Airways on Saturday, December 13th at Toulouse in south west France. The first delivery of a brand new aircraft is always a great moment for both a constructor and an airline. Qatar Airways will be the only airline in the world to operate the A350 for the first few months of 2015; followed by Vietnam Airlines.
Qatar Airways is the launch customer of the A350-900, which they should put into service during January 2015. To date, Qatar Airways has ordered a total of 80 Airbus A350’s comprising :- 43 A350-900’s and 37 A350-1000’s.
The A350-900 has a 315 passenger seating capacity. Other versions in the Airbus catalogue are the 276-seater A350-800 and the 369-seater A350-1000.
Since then, the delivery of Qatar Airways A350 has been suspended.
