On 5th., July, an air collision was averted at Spain's Barcelona airport. A Russian UTair Boeing 767, arriving from Moscow, was making its final approach, however, at the same moment, an Argentine Airlines' Airbus A340 crossed the runway, forcing the Russian pilots to apply full power and go around to finally land their 'plane, without a hitch, a few minutes later. This is "Women of Aviation Worldwide Week", and will be celebrated in 37 countries until 9th., March. Launched in 2010 by the Women in Aviation Association, headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, this event aims to promote the female contingent of this normally, very masculine, activity. The organization today comprises some 2,000 women worldwide...
Despite appearances, the Singapore Airshow lacked a little sparkle. The result being that, at the end of this 4th edition, professionals of the sector are leaving, on balance, with mixed impressions.
