Recruiting in one hell of a train! The Industry and Innovation Train has just arrived at at Toulouse station. A stop with one specific objective: finding the right people in the fields of aviation that are recruiting. This year, more than 4,000 jobs are to be had in France. In Toulouse, south west France, this is an unusual train which has just arrived in the station; a train which is not taking travellers on-board, but job seekers! Having left Paris on March 20, the Industry and Innovation Train is undertaking its own special Tour de France. Its objective: to promote new trades and professions which are recruiting, but struggling to find candidates with the right profiles. "On the production side, whether it be for turners, adjusters, millers, fitters, or cabin assemblers - those who mount the furniture in aircraft…… with the arrival of the A350 and its composite materials, new skills are required, and people have to be trained. Last year, despite all the people leaving schools, 2,200 job seekers had to be trained for jobs in production." "These are jobs that are accessible after training because they require a specific qualification. So Pole Emploi ( the Job Centres ), among others, train job seekers in these sectors to give them openings to these promising trades and professions.” This year in the South West of France, more than 4,000 jobs in the aerospace industry are available; one third manual workers, one third technicians and one third engineers. This candidate is not in this coach by accident, and has found just what he was looking for. "I left Brittany in the north west of France to come to Toulouse because it’s a region of quite technical jobs and where I think I will be luckier." With the Industry and Innovation Train, job seekers in aeronautics are certainly on the right track. All aboard! Next stops: Bordeaux, Rennes, Lille, Strasbourg and Valenciennes, arriving at the terminus, April 18.
