My Way App. : Charles de Gaulle airport has its GPS. Paris airport has launched a new Android smartphone application. Thanks to My Way Aéroports de Paris, the traveller can easily find his way around the terminals at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle. No more need for maps and plans. Getting lost in the maze of corridors at Charles De Gaulle airport is perhaps over. Last July Aéroports de Paris launched a new smartphone application : My Way Paris airport. It allows you to find 1600 points of interest for travellers, from toilets and rest rooms next to the boarding gates, through to restaurants. better than just a simple plan, it works like a GPS. "The interest of this application is the ability to geolocate yourself precisely at the airport, and inside terminals, since it has a precision of about 5m, sometimes 3m in some places, to provide a better step by step guide, for our passengers." At the moment the application is only available on smartphones operating with Android, but soon it should be also downloaded on IOS. Especially since it has an advantage that may interest lots of people : My Way Aeroport de Paris can be used in off-line mode. If this function avoids the cost of internet connection, it can also be used to prepare your arrival in Paris from anywhere. Victor SEIJO / Project Manager Airport Paris "You can use this mode, called demo mode, which allows you to manually select a starting and ending point, and so you can find out for yourself what the route is, for example, between terminals T1 and T3." For the moment, the application relates only to Charles de Gaulle airport, but in the near future, it should also be in operation at Orly. The fact is that since its launch, My Way Aéroports de Paris has been downloaded nearly 15,000 times. And its potential is great. Of the 60 million people who pass through the Charles de Gaulle airport each year, half of them are equipped with smartphones.
