  • Air Canada A320 makes spectacular runway excursion

    On March 29th an Air Canada Airbus A320 exited the runway while landing in Halifax. Of the 138 people onboard, 23 were slightly injured. An investigation has been launched by the Transport Canada Civil Aviation authority.

    At a press conference held today (26th March), the prosecutor of Marseille (sourthern France), delivered the last elements of the investigation into the crash of the Germanwings Airbus A320. The hypothesis is that the first officer had "the will to destroy the aircraft".

    According to the New York Times, one of the two pilots was outside the cockpit, and unable to regain access. According to the CVR (Cockpit Voice Recorder) recording, he repeatedly knocked on the door, but without response.

    Swimmer Camille Muffat, sailor Florence Arthaud, boxer Alexis Vastine, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash in Argentina, last Monday. They were participating in a reality show, called "Dropped", produced by the company ALP, for a French television channel, scheduled for broadcast this summer.

    Four days after the crash of Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo vessel in the California desert, the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is hard at work to determine the causes of the accident. Investigators have found that the copilot carried out an abnormal action in the cockpit two seconds before the disintegration of the aircraft.

  • Collision averted at Barcelona airport

    On 5th., July, an air collision was averted at Spain's Barcelona airport. A Russian UTair Boeing 767, arriving from Moscow, was making its final approach, however, at the same moment, an Argentine Airlines' Airbus A340 crossed the runway, forcing the Russian pilots to apply full power and go around to finally land their 'plane, without a hitch, a few minutes later.
